Known for her sweeping stroke, ethereal color treatment and strong composition, Jean Richardson expresses a vibrant, challenging energy in her unusual prints and paintings. These haunting works, simultaneously figurative and abstract, display a high degree of aesthetic and technical mastery, inspired by Western, mythological, and classical themes, notable dance and movement. After receiving her BFA from the University of Georgia and attending New York's Art Students League, Richardson returned to her Oklahoma birthplace where she currently lives and works.
