Biography
Judy Friday

Judy was born in Columbus, OH, and lived there until finishing college. She graduated from Ohio State Univeristy in 1980 with a degree in Business Administration. Having worked off and on in artistic and decorative painting for several years, she began to study art seriously when she and her husband moved to Lyme, CT in 1985. She studied at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts College in Old Lyme, CT, from 1987 to 1993.

Judy's primary focus is on landscapes and particularly bodies of water. She is mainly interested in the haze and light that bounce off the water. The Connecticut River is a source of inspiration, as is Long Island Sound. In addition, Martha's Vineyard Island and Nantucket Island have been recurring subjects.
