Biography
John Douglas

Born in Kansas, John Douglas has spent nearly all of his life in the American Southwest. He attended Arizona State University on an art scholarship where he trained intensively for four years, studying drawing, painting, and other art media.

Douglas' primary inspiration comes from nature, especially the natural beauty of the Arizona landscapes and wildlife that have moved countless others before him. His artistic specialty is the crafting of minutely detailed still life and floral compositions. By using a mixed media technique, Douglas manages to create powerful, free-flowing abstracts that are layered with texture and color. In addition to his extensive experience in painting , he has explored the medium of freestanding , hand-painted steel sculptures, as well as wall reliefs suffused with the intricate geometries of mosaic and tile work.

John Douglas has been an artist for many years now and his work can be found in numerous corporate and private collections and in galleries all over the world.
