| Her decorative still life imagery, often has a French Provincial feel to them. They are colorful and charming and often almost life-size, yet her watercolors are of intricate detail and much smaller. She is inspired by her ever-changing locations, which usually brings a new theme and passion into her work. An interior decorator with her own business in Melbourne, Australia since 1988, Gwenda decided as recently as 1996 to become a professional artist. Drawing objects d'art and flowers came easily, and she taught herself how to use water colors on paper, and later gouache and oils on canvas.
Within her first year of painting, she was invited to exhibit in a London gallery. In August 1997, she was invited to be an Artist-in-Residence at the Sofltel Hotel in Beverly Hills, L.A, where she painted 5 large canvas, now a permanent acquisition on display within the hotel.
