| At first glance of Nahid Ghodsi's highly decorative work, you see a beautiful still life of flowers with a warm golden hue framing each image. On closer examination, you enter into a unique world where east meets west by Nahid's use of detail and symbolism. The amalgamation of the Persian influence in the poetry that adorns her work, Asian stamps and motifs, as well as gold foil, add a pure richness which is very unique and quite stunning. All of these details are reminiscent of her historical background. Originally born in Persia, she still spends half of the year in her homeland. She is married to a Frenchman, and when not visiting her family in Persia, she can be found in her adopted country of France. |
