| David Tarn was born in Ely, Cambridgeshire in 1960. A mere nine years later, his family moved to the North East of England, where he was surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. The striking North Yorkshire coast and the rolling Yorkshire Dales have given Tarn the main inspiration for his work; the colours of the morning and evening sun on the landscape, the changes brought by the seasons and the effect the weather has on the countryside. Having started taking photographs as a hobby, Tarn has, he says, ‘A deep feeling for landscape and a wish to record not just the scene, but if possible the mood of the moment, is what drives me to take my photographs.’ |
