| Herb Ritts was born in Los Angeles in 1952 and based his career there, developing a unique relationship with the city’s entertainment industry. Having majored in economics at Bard College in the early 1970s, Ritts worked for several years in his family’s furniture business. His casual interest in photography became a professional career in the early 1980s, when his portraits of up-and-coming stars like Richard Gere attracted the attention of national magazines. He won rapid success as a fashion photographer working for such magazines as Harpers Bazaar, Vogue and Elle, and his portraits appeared regularly in Andy Warhol’s Interview and Vanity Fair. Ritts’ photographs are bold and immediate. His style derives its formal clarity from his intuitive understanding of forms, silhouettes and lines that are strong and classically inspired. Ritts also had a lively imagination that created whimsical and sometimes surreal images. Herb Ritts died in Los Angeles in 2002. |

Quality: Because we love art so much, we could never frame anything with less than the highest quality materials. From working directly with the best frame moulding manufacturers, to using conservation matting, quality is paramount, and your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
|
Pricing: We are not so bold as to offer a price match "guarantee" with the thousands of sources of custom framed art in the world. But we will stand by the statement that our prices are generally the best you will find...anywhere. We are consistently 40%-60% less than local frame shops, and usually at least 10%-20% less than other online outlets.
