| Nancy Roberts became serious about painting at the age of 46, on an extended sojourn aboard a small sailboat. Her boat carried her through the Mediterranean and Europe's inland waterways where she sketched and fell in love with the landscape. When she tired of life on the water, she settled in northwest France where she has lived for over a decade. Here, Nancy began painting watercolors of neighboring stone houses and gardens, rolling fields of sunflowers and poppies, and beautiful orchards and chateaux. As her surroundings provided her with wonderful subject matter to paint, she found that her paintings were becoming increasingly popular with the local inhabitants as well as with a few wandering tourists. She now shows her artwork throughout Europe and in the U.S. Nancy's daughter Mary Lincoln publishes and sells Nancy's limited edition prints.
