| Angel Ruiz de la Casa was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. Since he was a young boy he was attracted to the Impressionist movement, most notably Claude Monet and Joaquin Sorolla, the great master of color and light. Since infancy the young Angel preferred to draw and paint instead of play with the other children - "-it is obvious I was born to paint, " he says. His family could not afford many of the luxuries in life, so the young artist attended the Madrid State Arts & Crafts schools. Once he finished his studies he went to work in the studios of three great masters: D. José Bardasano, D. J. Molina Nuñez and D. A. Nuñes de Celis.
