| Teo Tarras was born in Barcelona in 1960. His mother, who was a painter, provided his earliest artistic influence. From an early age the young Tarras felt the need to express himself through illustration, painting and, more than anything, photography. Tarras specialized in Graphic Design and Publicity at the Escuela de Bellas Artes y Oficios Artísticos. He graduated from the University of Barcelona with a B.A., and received a degree from Escuela Massana y La Llotja de Barcelona. Tarras has many years of experience in illustration, photography and design and has worked for a variety of publicity agencies and editors over the years. "I like to photograph in black and white as this is the poetic part of photography," says Tarras about his great interest in life.
