ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES - ANGELA EASTERLING

Artist Biographies

Angela Easterling

Angela Easterling is a photographic artist who works with plant material. Her images of leaves and flowers are created without use of a camera. Each image is unique, and there are no negatives. Her work looks for inspiration both backwards, to the early photography of Fox Talbot, and forward to contemporary graphic art.

Recently, she has produced over 70 unique images of vegetables. These were commissioned for the Albert Roux Cafes now opening throughout the UK.

Last year, she had exhibitions at ‘The Art of Flower and Pont’ in central London which resulted in several commissions for private clients.

Easterling is delighted that she has been invited to the Eden Project in Cornwall, which opened this spring. She will participate in research and development with members of the Eden Science and Horticultural team during this summer, to create links and strengthen understanding between art and science.

Next year, The Museum of Garden History will be celebrating their 25th anniversary, for which Easterling will create a series of images using the plants from their world famous Knot Garden. Easterling lives and works in London.
