ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES - JANIE COATH

Janie Coath graduated from Central St Martins, London,in 1994 with a Master’s Degree in Illustration. The main areas of her work are for children’s books, book covers, greetings cards and editorial. Her clients have included Vogue, Brilliant Books, Random House, Paperlink and Greenpeace.

She achieves her bold and colourful style with acrylic and oil pastels, creating both tiny works on paper and large canvases. Matisse’s vivid palette and the kaleidoscope of sights and sounds she has discovered in India and Morocco have inspired her striking paintings.

The wide variety of clients Janie has worked with are reflected in her eclectic interests: she lives near England’s South Downs and enjoys walking there, as well as gardening in her cottage garden and listening to the opera, whilst managing to keep her eye on the performance of Middlesborough F.C.
