Ken Hawk
Ken Hawk has established a fine reputation as a watercolorist with a very strong following. Ten years ago, Ken left a successful career in real estate development to concentrate on his love of painting. Primarily self-taught, Ken has had the privilege of working with some of the most acclaimed watercolorists of our time; Millard Sheets and Dong Kingman. Although the professional influence of these masters is recognized in Ken's work, the unmistakable patterns of bold strokes and vivid colors remain unique. Hawk likes painting areas that ...hold me with their light and depth of color. The light here (in Florida) is so great - the sky is clear and the sun is so bright. I like to emphasize the brightness of day - I see everything in contrast to the sky. His work has been deeply influenced by his travels through Key West, Mexico and the Caribbean.

His work has been featured in such publications as Tampa Bay Magazine, Orlando Home and Garden and Metro Orlando Home, as well as twice featured on the cover of AAA's Going Places.

On a national level, Hawk was a featured artist in American Artist magazine and one of 24 artists selected for the American Cancer Society official Christmas cards. Hawk's work can be found in many corporate and private collections to include Marriott Hotels, Sands Hotel-Casino, Burger King, actor Burt Reynolds and the TV set design of Melrose Place.
