Emma McClure
The inspiration for McClure’s work comes from objects and places that she has seen and experienced first-hand. This might be as a result of travelling, particularly in Northern Africa and India where “the colours, patterns and exotic imagery are a gift to any painter” or places closer to home in London.

A visit to Ronnie Scotts might provide subject matter of musicians, singers and musical instruments; whilst a coffee at a local café such as the Blue Orange in Columbia Road, with its Moroccan interior, might prove to be visually inspiring.

Wherever she goes her eyes are alert for something that might trigger the excitement to create its image in paint.
