Artist Biographies

Susan Krieg

Susan Krieg was born July 1952 in Fargo, North Dakota. Venturing from home at age 16, Susan journeyed to Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego and San Francisco, acquiring skills while working as a graphic artist for various educational groups and political campaigns.

From 1975 to 1978, she attended California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, where she majored in fine art painting and drawing.

In 1978, Susan and her seven year old son moved to Phoenix where she worked as a corporate executive with a construction firm. She also continued her education, studying art therapy through evening courses and doing volunteer work with psychiatric patients. In 1988, Susan received a BFA in psychology from Ottawa University.

In early 1989, Susan began working at Accent Graphics as a watercolorist and designer. With a great desire to discover the self within through pscychology and to explore the world outside through art, Susan's goal is to express her own truth through the process of creating. A devoted seeker of knowledge and understanding of life on this planet, Susan is actively involved in the human potential movement as well as animal rights and ecological ethics.

Susan currently works with various mediums including pastels, watercolor, oil and paper sculpture. The subject of her work revolves around the inherent beauty in nature; a view of the universe as portrayed by an image as simple as a shell or a crystal.
