Artist Biographies

William Sloan

From his earliest recollection, William Sloan was taught that life is to enjoy, and anything is possible. Today, as he looks back, he feels that he has had the good fortune of proving both true. o Sloan is that rare combination of successful artist and businessman. The graphic design firm he co-founded nearly two decades ago counts the diverse likes of Time Warner, the Museum of Modern Art, and major players in the insurance, finance and book publishing as clients, and has won every major award in its field, including more than 50 for his personal efforts. He is the illustrator of over 100 book titles, including five #1 best sellers.

In his fine art career, Sloan enjoys gallery affiliations with the Bianco Gallery in Bucks County, PA and the Sande Webster, Gallery in Philadelphia, with four one-man shows, ten group exhibits and numerous juried competitions and prizes to his credit. And while he works in virtually every two-dimensional medium and gathers inspiration from an eclectic mix of periods, cultures and influences, he ranks figurative and still life compositions his favorite-and most popular subjects. From 1982 until recently, Sloan also found time to teach illustration and graphic design at his alma mater,Tyler School of Art, from which he received a BFA in 1976. His teaching experience has enabled him to take pride in his students achievements and Sloan hopes that he can help more people see the truth in the valuable lessons of his youth: Life is to enjoy, and anything is possible.
