What is a Fine Art Giclee?

A giclee (pronounced zhee-CLAY, a French term meaning "spray of ink") is a high-resolution, high-quality reproduction individually printed on a special large format printer. These beautiful digital reproductions are virtually unparalleled in quality and range of color, and are at the leading edge of fine art printmaking.

Color

Giclees not only incorporate more ink colors than traditional lithography, but they have such high resolution and color range that there are no dots comprising a giclee print. Rather, it is a continuous smooth tone of rich vibrant color.

Each of our fine art giclee prints are digitally prepared for the printer and then meticulously scrutinized by our team of printmakers to ensure quality and color correctness. Giclee printing is widely recognized as being the highest quality of all existing fine art printing methods.

Our Products

Paper Giclee

We use a matte finish acid-free archival fine art paper for all of our paper giclee prints. Our philosophy is that the quality of the paper is reflected in the quality of the print, which is why we will only use the highest quality paper media available.

Canvas Giclee

Our canvas giclees begin in print production where our talented team prints the image directly onto artist-grade canvas using archival inks for color permanence. After printing, our canvas product is then followed by our unique coating process wherein we seal the ink into the canvas by adding a clear protective barrier. This detailed process preserves and protects the image.

After the canvas is prepared, your piece enters our finished production studio where the canvas is then stretched and fit onto a custom-cut wooden frame. Hanging hardware is also installed at this stage, making your canvas art piece immediately ready to hang out of the box.

Custom Frame Studio

You have found the perfect art. Now what? Be sure to explore our custom frame studio. We are quite proud of it! Using this innovative tool you can preview exactly what your finished and framed item will look like. With dozens of designer frame moulding options and hundreds of matting combinations, you can create a design that fits your personal taste and decor. All of our framed prints are protected with a premium clear acrylic overlay.
